Alternative Medicine is alternative of traditional (Allopathy) Western medicine which includes Ayurvedic herbs, North American herbs, tinctures and Homeopathy.
What is Ayurvedic medicine?
People in west are Familiar of Yoga which is an interregnal branch of Ayurveda but in excercise form as Ayurveda on other hand is based on natural medicine. Ayurveda is comprehensive medical system that is 5000 years old. It considers itself as the Mother of medicine, from which the Chinese as well as classical western medicine have issued. The name comes from Sanskrit (Ayus – life, Veda – Knowledge). It is considered as the oldest surviving treatment system in the world.
In which form do we get the Alternative medicine?
Patient will receive herbal extracts in capsules form or in tincture (liquid) form.
How effective is the treatment?
In chronic conditions, generally patient starts getting positive results in a week or 10 days. It may vary patient to patient depending on condition, age and other health concerns.
Is Alternative medicine is covered by OHIP?
Whereas initial consultation is of no charge, patient’s medicine is not covered by OHIP. In some cases Insurance may cover homeopathy.
